The digital revolution of the last decade has unleashed creativity and talent in an unprecedented way, with unlimited opportunities.

But does democratized culture mean better art or is true talent instead drowned out? This is the question addressed by PressPausePlay, a documentary film containing interviews with some of the world’s most influential creators of the digital era.presspauseplay.com @presspauseplay Facebook: on.fb.me/y4gEK1

Take the Hour twenty out of your day to watch this Documentary. It covers a very relavent and interesting subject on how technology has and is affecting the arts.

A subject that i have had many long conversations about. It is a very interesting time for artists. There is a, some would say overload of creatives, that are producing work and sharing it with the public because of how technology has simplified the way that people are able to communicate and create that work. The way art is produced and seen is changing. creating some what of a cluster fuck in some situations. its is killing the so called industries and giving the power to the artist. The artist has the power to go on there own and create and produce there own work individually. There is much more to be said on this subject instead of reading more about what my opinions are on this subject, watch the Documentary it covers the basis of the subject.

I will leave you with the statement that the Artist has the power, create and share. go your own path because the path that was has now been replaced with the path that you pave.

Charles and Ray Eames are widely regarded as America’s most important designers.

This is a Trailer to the  Eames: The Architect and the Painter Documentary that appeared on PBS and is also available for purchase.

This is a must watch / acquire.

Love how with the color choices this piece seems to pop out of the wall, like its carved.

David Choe is a graffiti artist i have been following and a fan of Choe for a long while.

Around 2005ish he painted the head quarters for Facebook and decided to get payed in stock. Well lets just say that with Facebook going public and being estimated to be worth around 100 billion dollars. It was a very smart decision for Choe to paid in stocks. Its said that the amount of stocks he received are worth around 200 million dollars. Which in turn make shim one of the richest artists and undoubtedly the riches graffiti artist in the world.

By far my favorite part about Facebook going public.

Read more on this subject, and see some videos of Choe and even Mark Z. painting the Facebook head quarters after the jump at Freshness Mag.

Hard work does pay off and some times in ways you do expect. There will be ups and there will be downs, but if you truly believe in what you are doing and are willing to work your ass of to accomplish your dreams, it will pay off.  keep doing what you love and create what you want to show to the world, you never know what will come about. Not everything is easy for a reason, that is life.

There is something very interesting and beautiful about the first few lines of a complex piece. i sometimes find just the simplicity of lines to be more intriguing than the finished piece.

After almost two decades in the game Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def, has seen many ups and downs in the ever demanding music industry without compromising his art. Due to his thought-provoking rhymes in regards to social and political issues, the Brooklyn native belongs to hip-hop’s elite rhymesayers. Having recently rejoined with his frequent partner in rhyme Talib Kweli to resurrect Black Star and a new series called Top 40 is officially making its mark on the music game. We caught up with Yasiin and conversed about his latest music endeavors.

“While failure may be an integral prerequisite for true innovation” -by

That fear is the theme of this year’s student work exhibition at Stockholm’s Berghs School of Communication and, to launch it, they asked some of today’s most beloved creators — artists, designers, writers — to share their experiences and thoughts on the subject. While intended as advice for design students, these simple yet important insights are relevant to just about anyone with a beating heart and a head full of ideas — a much-needed reminder of what we all rationally know but have such a hard time internalizing emotionally.
