“This summer in London, Trek will debut the lightest mountain-bike frame ever built. The Superfly SL Pro weighs just 31.7 ounces—two less than the lightest 29-inch frame currently on the market…”

Trek is killing it in the Mtb department if you ask me. Road is a different story, but i still stand behind Trek being one of the best out there.

Race winner Catharine Pendrel applauds Georgia Gould at the podium.
Gould had been leading the race, and should have won it… only a puncture destroyed her chances, and she had to run in, only able to take third behind her team-mates Pendrel and Katerina Nash

These Trails are near block away from my apartment. and from IF’s new headquarters. there is a decent system already in place but, it definitely needs some good maintenance. our plan is to get together with a few of the IF guys and really fix the place up and create some nice loops, and trails through out that area. with just a bit of hard work we could have some create trails, that would benefit the town, IF and use. (who wouldn’t want some sweet dirt riding but blocks away from downtown…) our plan is to start once fall really rolls around. i plan to update here with out progress. there is a really good foundation already there, and with a bit of work there will be some great riding but blocks from downtown/ IF
bikes in the future. can not decide which one. Help?
i need a mtb, yet i can not make a decision on hard tail or squish.
both of these bikes are the same things superfly 29ers with shimano drivetrain and brakes with fox shocks.
(Superfly 100 elite al) hard tail with gears would be the easiest on the funds. and would throw me around on the trails more then the squishy. the hard tail climbs a bit better and is a bit lighter and can handle anything that i can.
the squishy bike (Superfly 100 elite al) is a dream to ride, it is very similar to the hard tail except for it makes up for my minimal skill in the dirt. anything that i fuck up on it will soak up and make me stay in the pedals. it climbs great for a full suspension, and will roll and squish over anything i can throw at it. yet it will also squish a bit more of my bank account.
basically it comes down to.
1. do i want to spend less money and look like a fool for a bit in the woods while i learn how to ride dirt/trails better. (superfly 100 elite al) and have a hard tail that might be a bit slower and not as well suited in some terrain. (mostly cause of my skill lol)
2. or do i want ot spend more money and have the bike make up for my mistakes so i seem to have a bit more skill then i actually have. (superfly 100 elite al) and have a bike that will be able to handle everything i want to do.
i am so up in the air on this. i love how both of them ride and neither is a bad choice. yet one is cheaper then the other and i cant seem to make my mind up if the money is worth the extra squish in the back.
please lend me your opinion?
